Terms and Conditions

February 2012

VISITING MARES

Mares should arrive at Stud with shoes removed and wearing a well fitting head collar. All mares should have been wormed within a few days of arrival.

You will be asked to sign an Indemnity and Livery agreement before leaving your mare at stud.

BIO SECURITY

NES is serious about its bio security here at Cowling hill farm. We require all mares to be tested for the following prior to arriving here.

            CEM (Contagious Equine Metritis)

            EVA (Equine Viral Arteritis)

            Strangles.

We understand that should a mare test positive to Strangles then it should be further tested with Guttural pouch swabs to determine whether it is a carrier or just has the antibodies present as is the case where a horse has had the disease and recovered from it previously.

Certificates showing negative results along with the identification passport must accompany the mare upon arrival. No mare will be permitted entry to Cowling Hill Farm without these.

Please use any disinfection mats or sprays where supplied and avoid contact with other yards prior to your visit here so as to take every care not to bring any infection with you

STUD FEES

Stud fees at Cowling Hill Farm are NFFR, (No Foal Free Return) so long as the mare is certified barren on October 1st. Stud fees, keep and any other charges are to be paid before removal of any mare from Cowling Hill Farm. No mare will be allowed to be removed until this is so.
